I spent this evening inside of the evacuation zone in lower Manhattan (New York City) and down as far as Battery Park (which is now submerged.) It was eerie and beautiful and I was happy to have just enough electricity to edit some of the shots. Now I will see how long it takes to make this post by candlelight from my mobile device.
I will hit the streets in the morning again and post updates here whenever I am able.

The photographs are outstanding; looking forward to more of your coverage from the east coast.
Here's wishing you and everyone in the east coast, all the very best. Be safe, stay well and let's hope that Sandy's damage is minimum.
Peace to you and everyone else,
Soham

Amazing photographs. The photo of Brooklyn is remarkable. Thank you for coming to HWS--extraordinarily moving.
