En cela, l’Intégrale Phil Perfect diffère. Personnage emblématique de Serge Clerc, Phil Perfect n’a jamais fréquenté les pages du journal Spirou, ou alors de fa?on anecdotique, et encore moins les collections d’albums Dupuis. Il a logiquement débuté sa carrière de journaliste spécialisé rock dans le magazine Rock & Folk avant de la poursuivre dans Métal Hurlant, puis Heavy Metal. Baignées dans un style moderniste et un univers rock, les aventures de Phil Perfect semblent bien loin des oeuvres publiées par Dupuis. Erreur ! Le perfectionniste Serge Clerc, toujours à la recherche du trait parfait, avait pour frère Yves Chaland et pour ma?tre des gens comme Jijé ou Tillieux. Et l’affiliation est évidente. Pour Dupuis, Serge Clerc est même le cha?non manquant entre l’école de Marcinelle et la Nouvelle vague fran?aise. Le pont historique entre Spirou et Métal Hurlant. C’est en tout cas un merveilleux cadeau qui nous est fait ici, l’occasion unique de se replonger dans une époque que les moins de vingt ans ne peuvent conna?tre. 272 pages de bonheur autour des récits, illustrations et dessins réalisés par Serge Clerc dans les années 80-90.
