France's Champagne Region

These things always sound so much more exotic when I write them than they are in real life :)  Seriously though, France is a beautiful country and exploring it is always nice.  Just bear in mind that when you see a river stretching out in front of you every hour of every day, week after week...it can get a bit tiresome. 

I am out of France now though and will be on the road for the next four or more months.  I have some lectures and a photography exhibition in Moscow in a couple of weeks and will post the details here in case any of your are in the neighborhood.

Through France

About three weeks ago I finally made it into France on my ship.  There was a last minute route change in Belgium thanks to a waterway closure, which ended up making life extremely difficult.  In the end I made it into France and was able to tie up the ship and head out to work.  I will be lecturing and having an exhibit in Moscow in July, doing some shooting in the Ukraine and then off to Bangladesh.  I will talk more about these projects soon.

It is looking like I will have a workshop available in Bangladesh in mid August if anyone is interested.  It would be for either five, seven or ten days...your choice.  You can get more info on the workshops at http://zoriah.com/workshops.  I will post more on this next week.

Through Belgium

It has been really tough finding reliable internet access while on the ship.   Here is a shot from my window while passing through Belgium.  It is a bit hard to shoot and steer at the same time :)

Out of Amsterdam

These posts are a bit behind as I am just now getting internet access.  I hope to catch up soon.

As of right now the GPS has registered 158 hours of sailing time in two and a half weeks, so I am a bit exhausted to say the least.  That, of course, does not include the countless hours on mechanical issues, searching out fuel in unknown towns, finding places to tie up overnight, wait for locks to open etc.  I will write a summery of the whole trip so far as soon as I can.  I think I need a bit more time so I can regain my sense of humor about the whole thing :)   For now, a shot as I headed out of the Netherlands and on into Belgium.
