Photojournalism Workshop Student Kristoff Wierzbicki - New Story "Harmony"

I would like to congratulate to photojournalism workshop student Kristoff (Krzysztof) Wierzbicki.  In just one short year since our one-on-one workshop in Cambodia Krystoff has produced some truly wonderful stories around the world.

His newest story documents the lives of elderly people living in a home in Tbilisi, Georgia.  The home is struggling the future of it's residents are in jeopardy, so for those of you who are able to donate please consider this worthy cause.  You can read the story and find the links to donate via PayPal here.

A Thousand Times Goodnight Opens Friday - War Photographer Film

A Thousand Times Goodnight opens in the United States this Friday, the 24th of October, 2014.  In the film, academy award winning actress Juliette Binoche plays a female war photographer struggling to keep her life together.  I was involved with the film from the beginning and did all of the still photography featured in the film (all of the images shot by the main character in the film were mine,) coached Juliette Binoche on location in Morocco and the film features many of my portfolio images as well as those of Marcus Bleasdale of VII.

I will be posting many more images from the film over the coming weeks along with behind the scenes images shot during filming and many outtakes that did not make it into the final cut.  I will also talk more about Juliette and what she did to prepare for this role, as she really went above and beyond, down to learning every button on the camera to make sure she knew exactly how to work as a war photographer, not just act like one.

France After Dark

A man jokes around for his friends on the streets of Roubaix, France.  Roubaix is France's poorest city and because so few people have jobs, life is lived on the citie's streets.  

Roubaix, France at Twenty Years Old - Opening Night October 2nd 2014

I will be in Roubaix tomorrow evening for the opening of the Roubaix at Twenty exhibition, a showcase of images exploring the lives of young people in France's poorest city.  The doors will open at six pm (18:00) at La Cave aux Poets and I will look forward to seeing some of you there.

Students practice Parkour on the rooftops of the city center.  Parkour, originally developed from military obstacle course training, involves acrobatics is now a way for young people to explore urban environments.
